Basic Machinery Company (BMC), founded in 1975, continues to be an industry leader in the supply of custom engineered material handling and process solutions for the brick industry, as well as, many other bulk materials handling industries worldwide. Having evolved from a limited sales agency for many key suppliers, BMC has become a major OEM of a broad line of material handling and processing products, including complex automated systems for brick manufacturing.
In 1986, BMC established a general Industrial Equipment Division (IED) to pursue opportunities in other industries which utilized many of the same bulk material handling equipment which are incorporated in brick plants such as feeders, crushers, vibrating screens, hammer mills, linear reclaimers, radial stacking conveyors, and similar equipment. Much of our success has been in providing application-engineered equipment and systems for the power generation, wood products, mining, and aggregate processing industries.
Now that many industries are populated by larger, financially sophisticated firms focused on enhancing their competitive position through cost reductions and productivity gains, the trend toward plant automation has strengthened. BMC has worked with nearly every brick manufacturer in the United States to deliver clay processing and brick handling machinery and systems toward that goal. The company holds General Contractor licenses in several states in response to the strong market demand for turnkey manufacturing and construction services. Additionally, BMC has a successful track record of exporting its products. Large-scale systems produced by the company can be found in Russia, Uzbekistan, Mexico, the Caribbean Basin, Sri Lanka, and Botswana to name a few.
Challenging economic times require that companies adapt to the ever changing demands. BMC has continually met those challenges with an open mind in our approach to serving the industries that need the latest solutions without being burdened with development costs. BMC has been an industry leader in developing cost competitive equipment and systems for the fast growing industries that do not have strong historical providers to rely on. As the demand required, BMC has been very instrumental in providing new solutions to industries such as MSW recycling, waste-to-energy co-generation, and most recently, biomass processing.
